About Full Mouth Reconstruction

A full mouth reconstruction is a custom combination of restorative procedures, designed to meet all your oral health needs. We will conduct a complete analysis of your oral health, including a functional exam, cosmetic exam, periodontal exam, and TMJ and bite analysis.

Following this assessment, your dentist will begin to create your personal treatment plan. If your concerns are mainly aesthetic, you might consider a smile makeover instead.

The Full Mouth Reconstruction Procedure

After defining your cosmetic and restorative goals, the dentist will create three-dimensional mockups and wax-ups so you can preview what your restored smile will look like. You can wear these models, and your dentist can make adjustments to ensure a comfortable, secure fit. While off-site lab technicians are creating your restorations, Drs. Pinnix and Betancourt can provide temporary restorations to wear in their place.

In some cases, we may be able to provide same-day restorations. Our state-of-the-art CEREC® imaging system uses pictures of your teeth to create a 3D map of your smile. This information is transmitted to an in-office milling machine, which can create durable and stunningly lifelike restorations in a matter of minutes.

In addition to supplying the restorations, we also offer advanced oral surgery options, including extractions, bone grafting, and sinus lifts. If you have experienced jawbone recession as a result of tooth loss or gum disease, these procedures can enhance your facial structure and make you a suitable candidate for implant-supported restorations.

Full Mouth Reconstruction Candidates

If you have suffered significant tooth loss and you want to improve your smile and dental function, you may be an excellent candidate for a full mouth reconstruction. Before moving ahead with restorations, Drs. Pinnix and Betancourt will need to treat any gum disease or decay you are experiencing. Preliminary treatment might include periodontal care, fillings, or soft tissue grafts. Once these problems have been addressed, we can begin planning to provide:

  • Crowns: Tooth-shaped caps used to restore structurally compromised teeth or dental implants
  • Bridges: Two or more prosthetic teeth used to replace missing teeth, sometimes called a partial denture
  • Implants: Titanium posts surgically implanted in the jaw to replace tooth roots and support restorations
  • Dentures: Full-arch replacements for missing teeth
  • Bone grafting or sinus lifts: Augmentation of the jaws to restore lost bone mass or avoid interference with the sinus cavities

We can provide sedation, if needed, to help you relax throughout these procedures.
