Four Reasons to Choose Advanced Dentistry of Blakeney

Up-to-Date Training

Our dentists are always continuing their education. In fact, Dr. Pinnix recently completed a digital smile design mini-residency at NYU's esteemed Dental School.

Welcoming Amenities

We offer iPads, leather massage chairs in our treatment rooms, beverages, TVs, and earphones for music.

Advanced Technology

Our dental office is one of the few in all of North Carolina to offer digital smile design. Digital scanning using cone beam computed tomography (CT) and other tools help us make precise treatment plans and models so you can preview your results.

Sedation Dentistry

Nervous about treatment or pain? Our safe, effective sedation methods can help your visit be calm and pain free.

We Customize Cosmetic Treatment Plans Based on You

Because every patient is unique, no two smile makeovers performed at our state-of-the-art Charlotte, NC, practice will be the same. However, there are several popular cosmetic dentistry procedures to choose from, including:

Dental Bonding

This treatment involves the application of tooth-colored composite resin to can conceal a wide range of imperfections such as chips, cracks, discoloration, and more.

Tooth-Colored Fillings

If you have old amalgam fillings, they can be replaced with tooth-colored composite fillings for a more natural-looking appearance.

Porcelain Veneers

Like bonding, veneers can conceal a number of aesthetic issues. These thin but strong ceramic shells are bonded to the front surfaces of the teeth to create a more uniform, balanced effect.

Dental Crowns

These lifelike restorations are used in restorative and cosmetic procedures alike. Similar to veneers, crowns can address several aesthetic concerns. However, a crown is designed to fit over the entire tooth rather than just the front surface.

Teeth Whitening

Yellowed, discolored, or dull teeth can be brightened by several shades with professional teeth whitening. At Advanced Dentistry of Blakeney, we offer both in-office and take-home options that work faster and better than store-bought products.

Invisalign®

Patients who have overlapping teeth, gapped teeth, or other forms of dental misalignment can benefit from orthodontic treatment. Our dentists offer the Invisalign system, which is a clear, removable alternative to traditional metal braces.

Laser Gum Reshaping

Those with an uneven or “gummy” smile can undergo laser gum reshaping. This advanced procedure eliminates excess gum tissue and contours the gum line for a more symmetrical, balanced appearance.

Dental Implants

Drs. Pinnix and Betancourt are extensively trained in the surgical placement of dental implants, which act as strong artificial tooth roots where teeth are missing. Durable and lifelike dentures, crowns, and bridges can be attached to the implants to complete your smile.

What Do I Need to Qualify for Treatment?

Multiple Issues

Our doctors typically recommend a smile makeover for patients in the Charlotte area who want to address multiple aesthetic concerns with a comprehensive treatment plan.

Good Oral Health

It is important to be in good oral health before pursuing cosmetic changes. Dr. Pinnix or Dr. Betancourt can examine your teeth and gums and determine if you need restorative treatments before beginning your makeover.

Willing to Invest in Your Smile

Insurance won't cover the cost of cosmetic procedures, so interested patients should be sure they are ready to pay out of pocket costs. Our practice offers attractive financing options that can make the smile of your dreams affordable.

Worried about the Best Way to Pay?

Your smile plays an important role in your overall self-confidence, so our entire team wants to make cosmetic dentistry procedures accessible to those who desire them. During your consultation, our friendly staff will be happy to work with you to determine a means of payment that fits your budget comfortably. If any treatments included in your plan - such as Invisalign, gum disease treatment, or a filling - qualify for coverage under your insurance plan, you can count on us to work with your provider to secure maximum coverage.

What Affects SMILE MAKEOVER COSTS

The Type of Procedures

The type of procedures in your treatment plan will affect the overall cost. Minor treatments, such as teeth whitening, generally cost less than more complex procedures, such as porcelain veneers.

The Number of Procedures

More treatments typically mean higher costs. Patients who choose teeth whitening and dental bonding will generally incur a lower treatment cost than those who choose to upgrade their smiles with teeth whitening, veneers, and gum contouring.

Technology

Our office uses the latest dental technology to provide the highest quality of care, including digital x-rays, CEREC®, and laser technology. Some of our technologies can save you money by reducing lab fees. However, others may add to your final cost.

Materials

More aesthetic materials, such as dental porcelain, often cost more than other options. For example, veneers are typically more expensive than bonding. However, ceramic provides more realistic and durable results.

Simple Tips for Maintaining Your Results

A smile makeover requires investing your time and money, so our dentists want to help you maintain your results as long as possible. To keep your smile looking great and feeling healthy, you should:

  • Brush your teeth twice each day, even if you have porcelain veneers, porcelain crowns, or dental implants
  • Floss your teeth daily, but floss front to back (rather than up and down) to avoid dislodging your dental work
  • Visit our Charlotte dentists every six months so that we can assess the health of your smile
  • Minimize foods and drinks that can stain your teeth, such as red wine, tea, coffee, and tomato sauces

Depending on which treatments you undergo, our dentists will provide a detailed set of aftercare instructions to help you maintain a healthy smile for years to come.
