CEREC IMAGING CAN FABRICATE REALISTIC RESTORATIONS FOR SAME-DAY TREATMENT

At Advanced Dentistry of Blakeney in Charlotte, NC, we are committed to using the latest innovations for superior care. In-house CEREC® technology allows Dr. John M. Pinnix IV and Dr. George A. Betancourt to design, fabricate, and place dental restorations in a single day. Thanks to this advanced computer imaging system, your care can be more accurate and efficient. The digital scanner can capture extremely precise images of your teeth. Then the milling machine will carve your restoration from one of several top-of-the-line materials. In just one dental appointment, you can enjoy completely restored dental function and a beautiful smile.

CEREC Applications

Drs. Pinnix and Betancourt use CEREC technology to create dental crowns, including both traditional and implant-supported restorations. Accordingly, this technology can benefit you if you are missing a tooth or if you have significant structural damage. Crowns are also an integral part of root canal therapy. If you are suffering from a dental infection, your dentist can clean out your tooth, design your crown, and place the restoration all in one appointment. As a result, root canal therapy, which can be anxiety-inducing for many patients, can involve as little stress or discomfort as possible.

Drs. Pinnix and Betancourt use CEREC technology to create dental crowns, including both traditional and implant-supported restorations.

How Does CEREC Work?

CEREC is an innovative CAD/CAM (computer-aided design/computer-aided milling) system. Dr. Pinnix or Dr. Betancourt will first need to reshape and prep your tooth. Then your doctor will use the CEREC scanner to measure your tooth and create digital impressions. After the images upload to an office computer, your dentist will use design software to plan your restoration. The completed designs will upload to a milling machine. This device will carve out your restoration to match the exact dimensions of your mouth. The process typically takes an hour or less. You can relax in our comfortable office as you wait for your restoration to be completed. As soon as the crown is finished, Drs. Pinnix or Betancourt will attach it to your tooth or to your dental implant.

The Benefits of CEREC Technology

At Advanced Dentistry of Blakeney, we proudly utilize CEREC technology for a variety of reasons, including:

  • More efficient care: With CEREC, your entire treatment can take place in just a few hours. No longer will you have to wear an uncomfortable or unsightly temporary restoration. Instead, you can leave the office with your custom-designed dental crown and a complete, natural smile.
  • More comfortable care: Thanks to digital imaging, your dentist can take impressions of your teeth without dental putty or uncomfortable trays. Additionally, CEREC images are more accurate than traditional molds, creating a more precise and comfortable fit.
  • Outstanding aesthetics: CEREC uses ultramodern dental porcelain, which is stronger than older forms of ceramic. This material is slightly translucent to look as natural as possible.
