Greetings from Advanced Dentistry of Blakeney
Drs. John Pinnix and George Betancourt would like to extend our sincerest best wishes to you and your families. We hope that you continue to navigate these most difficult times with strength, perseverance and the promise that we will all soon return to 'business as usual'.
Please note, the purpose of this email is not to go into detail about our office protocols during the current COVID- 19 response. We always have and will continue to maintain the highest level of aseptic and sterilization techniques. Regarding our office hours, we are presently closed as a result of recommendations provided by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention as well as the American Dental Association. For patients with upcoming appointments, trust that we will communicate directly with you via phone call to reschedule them as we learn more about our current situation.
For the time being, we want to extend to you, our patients, the helping hand you need during these times for all things dental. While we may be limited in terms of office hours and available services, Drs. Pinnix and Betancourt remain available to you via other modalities. For example, we ask that you please find and follow our social media pages, pinnixandbetancourt on Instagram, Advanced Dentistry of Blakeney on Facebook, and @BlakeneySmiles on Twitter. We will use these social media outlets as a means of communication and also a way to provide a Question & Answer forum for general questions anyone may have.
For personal/private needs related to ongoing treatment or your dental health, we will be available to schedule a virtual consultation. This may be accomplished via FaceTime, Zoom meeting or other platform whereby we may have a face to face encounter. These will be available to you, our patient, as a courtesy.
These are unprecedented times for us all. We strive to be on the front edge of the capabilities and service we provide our patients. Much of that depends on our availability and communication. We are here and we will, across any medium possible, provide the guidance you need during these difficult times. We ask that you please reach out to us either via email to the office (firstname.lastname@example.org), one of our social media platforms, or our phone line from which you can leave a message. We will make every effort possible to get back to you in a timely manner.
From Drs. Pinnix, Betancourt and our entire staff at Advanced Dentistry of Blakeney, we hope you and your families manage the COVID-19 pandemic with an abundance of care, caution and respect for the well being of our community.

Professional dental care is something that should be important to all patients. From a patient’s childhood and into their senior years, dental care is vital to maintaining a smile that is strong, healthy, and attractive. In fact, as a patient ages, dental care can become especially important. During a patient’s senior years, it is more likely that aging and years of use will take a toll on the teeth, leaving many in need of restorative dentistry treatment to strengthen the teeth, improving oral functions and oral health. At Advanced Dentistry of Blakeney, we offer a comprehensive range of dental care to seniors in Charlotte, providing general, cosmetic, and restorative dental services that help seniors care for the health and aesthetics of their teeth.
General dentistry services include routine dental exams and cleanings. These appointments help patients of all ages to keep the teeth clean and give our dentists a chance to examine the teeth, gums, and other soft tissues of the mouth. For senior patients, it is common for the tooth’s protective layer of enamel to wear down, increasing the risk of tooth decay and infection. Gum disease, which can lead to tooth loss, is another common problem for senior patients. Because of the increased risk of dental complications for seniors, it is especially important that regular dental exams be scheduled at least twice a year. These appointments can help patients prevent oral health problems and allow for the early diagnosis of dental complications so that any issues can be addressed before they progress further.
Despite all the advantages of general dentistry services, it is not unusual for senior patients to require restorative dentistry treatment. Because aging can have an effect on the strength of the teeth, decay, infection, and even tooth loss are not uncommon for our senior patients. We offer a full range of restorative dentistry services that can address these problems and give patients stronger, healthier teeth that function properly and comfortably. Below are just some of the restorative treatments available to our senior patients:
Aging can also have an effect on the aesthetics of a patient’s smile. No matter a patient’s age, just about everyone wants an attractive smile. By addressing cosmetic flaws, patients can obtain that beautiful smile and even create a more youthful appearance. Our cosmetic dentistry services can address a range of cosmetic flaws, including chips, cracks, discoloration, and gaps in the smile. Cosmetic treatments that may be of interest to our senior patients include dental bonding, laser gum reshaping, and porcelain veneers.
At any age, patients deserve to have high quality, professional dental care that will help them maintain a healthy and attractive smile. At Advanced Dentistry of Blakeney, we are committed to providing patients with that care. If you are looking for a caring and professional dental practice that can meet your complete range of dental needs, this is the place. Schedule an appointment at your earliest convenience to learn more about our services. We look forward to hearing from you.
